Our staterooms are an alluring escape from the non-stop action our cruise ships are known for. On March 11, 2016, the vessel was officially delivered to RCI by Meyer Werft in Bremerhaven Germany. The vessel left the shipyard and was tugged down Ems River on a 26 mi / 42 km long conveyance itinerary from  Meyer Werft Papenburg to Eemshaven Holland (North Seas / Baltic Sea) arriving on March 12 at ~6 pm. The 2016-built Ovation of the Seas cruise ship is the 3rd Quantum-class Royal Caribbean liner, with sisterships Quantum OTS (2014) and Anthem OTS (2015). The ship berths at the City Cruise Terminal in the Western Docks, where its fleetmates also dock when visiting the city. The first steel for the third vessel in the Quantum class was cut on 18 September 2014, the same day its name was announced to be Ovation of the Seas.[9] The keel was laid down by Meyer Werft on 5 March 2015. Before the first piece of the keel was lowered into place, Adam Goldstein, President and COO of Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd., the holding company of RCI, placed a lucky coin in the dock. The keel was formed of 74 blocks.[10] The first section was launched on 20 June 2015. The dress code on Ovation of the Seas is casual during the day and a little bit smarter in the evening.

Reservations for all restaurants can be made online ahead of the cruise. Though not required, reservations are definitely recommended to ensure guests get to eat where they want, when they want. Food and service at the main restaurants, Silk, Chic, American Icon, and The Grande, is varied and offers an array of experiences. She officially named Ovation of the Seas at an inaugural ceremony on June 24, 2016, in Tianjin, China.
